Medical records
Email us your dog's vaccine records, health check, and any other medical notes before check in day. Dogs without the right paperwork cannot board or visit. If your dog cannot get a vaccine for a medical reason, ask your vet to send us a signed letter that explains why.
Health check
For the health of every guest, please make sure your dog is well before they arrive. Watch for these signs:
- A cough of any kind
- Any eye discharge
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Weight loss you cannot explain
- Tiredness you cannot explain
A dog that feels sick can get much worse while boarding. We do not give any medications to guests. We may refuse boarding if a health issue could put your dog at risk, or if these checks were skipped.
Required vaccines
- DA2PP. Covers distemper, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza, parvovirus, and canine coronavirus.
- Rabies.
- Bordetella, also called kennel cough.
Puppies need at least two sets of shots. We suggest you talk to your vet before their first visit. Parasite prevention is not required, but we strongly suggest a monthly topical treatment such as Revolution or Advantage Multi. It protects against fleas, ticks, mites, and lice. Ask your vet which one is best for your dog.
General policies
- All dogs must be on a leash coming in and going out. We have slip leads if you need one. Just ask.
- All dogs must be friendly with people and other dogs. If your dog has any behaviour issues, tell us ahead of time so everyone stays safe.
- Puppies are welcome at 10 weeks old, or after two sets of shots.
- Dogs over 7 months old must be spayed or neutered. We make exceptions case by case, with a written vet note when the surgery is not advised for a medical reason.
- Females in heat cannot stay with us until 30 days after their last day of spotting. We cannot make exceptions.
- A dog that hurts another dog or shows aggression will be moved to a holding kennel until pick up. Under our service agreement, we are not responsible for injury costs. The owner of the dog that caused the injury pays for the care of every dog that was hurt.
- Please bring your dog's usual food for the whole stay. A change in diet can be stressful, and more so in a new place. Mark the container with your dog's name and any feeding notes, and tell us about any allergies. Your dog eats alone in a calm spot. We also offer hand feeding for a more personal touch.
Booking policies
- A $50 deposit confirms your booking. Your spot is not held until we receive it. Stays over 10 nights need a 50 percent deposit, paid at check in.
- Cancel at least 72 hours ahead. With less notice, or a no show, the deposit is kept.
- Check in is 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Check out is 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM on the last day. Pick ups after 11:00 AM have a $25 late fee.
- Please avoid check in or check out outside these hours, since it disrupts the other guests. If you must, we can arrange it with notice for $20 per dog.
- Call or email us if you cannot pick up on the day you booked. A dog left more than 5 days past check out with no contact will be surrendered to Animal Services.
- Full payment is due at pick up. Unpaid balances are sent to collections.
- We keep a valid credit card on file. Card numbers are always encrypted by our payment processor.
- Tell us who will drop off and pick up your dog, with their name and phone number. If that changes, let us know. We only release a dog after the owner confirms, and we ask for government photo ID.
- No credits or refunds for early pick up. You are charged for the full booking.
